Resources for new and prospective teachers

The Advantage Press is the publisher of Employment Strategies for Prospective Teachers.

We also have material to help new teachers get off on the right foot once they land that job.

Classroom discipline has been said to be the primary reason for most first year teachers to leave the profession. We have material designed to help you set the right tone in the classroom - material that is easy to use and that really works.

About the Advantage Press

We've collected some of the best ideas on how to get a job in education and put them in a book we call "Employment Strategies for Prospective Teachers." Written by school administrators, it includes insight on what principals are looking for, how to get their attention, and how to successfully negotiate the interview process.

We have also noted a trend to pose "challenging questions" to candidates during the first and second job interviews. These questions are designed for the adminstrator to see how well the teacher can "think on her feet" and "handle some extra pressure." We know what these "challenging questions" are and have provided you with some ideas on good answers.

Once you land the job, your work has just begun. Don't get sidetracked by classroom discipline problems. We have a booklet entitled "The New Teacher's Advantage" which is designed to help you get your first school year off to a great start.

As of January 1, 2007, over 163,000 of our products had been sold to schools in the United States and Canada.
