If you are offered a job at our school and are also offered a job at another school, how will you decide which offer to accept?

Be honest. There are a number of variables that you will be able to weigh between two or more offers: itemize them and check off the "pros" and "cons." A good answer to the question would let the principal in on your thinking.

Subjects and/or grades you will teach.

Academic ability/preparedness of your prospective students.

Size of the school, district and classes.

Extracurricular activities that might accompany the position.

Your opinion of the staff you have met.

Salary.

As you mention each item, express the strengths of the school at which you are interviewing. Also, express the "pefect" conditions for each. For example: "Third grade is great. My goal is to someday teach first or second grade, and it appears that may be possible in this school in the future. If another offer came along that included first grade, and all other things were equal, I'm afraid I might have to take it."
