Think about the story of the Wizard of Oz. With which character do you most identify? Why?

We have a superintendent friend who swears by this question: he uses it in every interview. Another superintendent friend says she would never use it. Just in case, here are some thoughts:

We suggest that "Dorothy" is a good answer here.

You probably don't want to admit that you are either heartless, brainless or without courage. You probably don't want to align yourself with the evil witches of the world. Nor do you want to express affinity toward conniving wizards.

So the good answer is "Dorothy." Dorothy has a goal. She develops a plan on how to achieve that goal. And helps lots of others along the way. Sounds like a good teacher.
